Kindling - 3D Animated Short Film (Fall 2023)
A huntress traveling through snowy woods takes shelter in a seemingly empty cottage. After making herself comfortable, she encounters a mischievous creature in the house and begins to hunt it. Upon discovery that the injured fox is taking shelter just as she is, the huntress shows compassion and submits to starting a fire. The fox cautiously sits beside her and their relationship kindles.
"Kindling" is a 3D animated junior student film created during the Fall 2023 semester at Pratt Institute, for Animation Studio 3. Programs used were Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Procreate, ProTools and Premiere Pro.
A frog named Bubby and his tadpole son live in an abandoned watering can. Bubby’s son is kept in a glass jar so that Bubby can easily tend to him. One day an old woman rediscovers her watering can, and is surprised to find a frog is living in it. She transports the watering can over to a nearby lily pond and dumps Bubby and his son into it. They’ve lost their home, but the tadpole is now free to swim outside the bounds of his jar, and Bubby realizes that this incident is a good thing after all.
"Bubby and Son" is a 3D animated sophomore student film created during the Spring 2023 semester at Pratt Institute, for Animation Studio 2. Programs used were Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Premiere Pro.
